Pussy Tangent Podcast Upgrade!!!

Hello Pussy Tangent Podcast family!

I have some exciting news to share with you! Our beloved studio is getting a much-needed upgrade. We’re working hard to enhance our space to bring you an even better podcasting experience. During this time, we’re giving you the opportunity to catch up on some of your other favorite podcasts.

But don’t worry, we’ll be back next week better than ever! Our return will feature an exciting episode titled "Navigating Difficult Conversations." In this episode, we’ll dive into how to manage our emotions while unpacking hurtful experiences with others.

This topic hits close to home for me. Throughout most of my life, I struggled with managing my emotions during difficult conversations. I would get so caught up in my feelings that my thoughts would become jumbled and confused. As a result, I would just blurt out my feelings. Honestly, I felt better after these poor communication attempts because my whole approach was to stop feeling frustrated and give the other person a piece of my mind. After all, they had to know that I was upset by what they did or didn’t do, right?

Well, you can imagine how the other person felt after being told off by me. To make matters worse, I would either ignore their attempts to explain themselves or cry my eyes out if they didn’t come begging for my forgiveness. It took me a while to understand why my approach negatively impacted people’s perception of me. Funny thing is, sometimes I would have to apologize to them for my poor communication. But after years of poor communication and alienating myself from others, I finally put thought into my approach to managing difficult conversations.

I recognized my role in how people were feeling after speaking with me. From there, I was able to make a few adjustments to my communication style. And after some time, it became second nature. If I’m being honest, sometimes the default setting of going off is tempting, but that’s what showers, closets, and car rides are for! (Insert giggle here)

I’m curious about how you feel about your communication style. Think about it.

We’ll be back next week with more insightful discussions and tips on how to handle tough talks with grace and empathy. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We can’t wait to be back with more empowering content.
